Posted by wptheme on December 19th, 2010SEO is something that site owners should consider nowadays, since it is hard to make your website popular without it. A huge part of SEO is link building. There are a lot of strategies out there – good ones and bad ones, and it is often hard to decide which one to use in order to achieve the best results. Turns out that link building is something we should be careful with in order to avoid penalties and other unwanted results. Below you will find some tips that have been tested and proven to be working.
1. Asking for links – when asking other people for links over the e-mail try to be different. It is proven that non-formal e-mails are way more effective than the world famous “Dear webmaster” for example. Also you should consider changing a thing or two when sending e-mails to ask for links. Try to make the webmasters know that the certain e-mail they are receiving from you is for them only. Sending mass e-mails is not a good idea. Another thing you can do is offer them to talk on the phone which makes things more personal and makes you stand out from the crowd because not many people bother talking on the phone nowadays.
2. Content – as you know, content is very important when it comes to link building. In order to achieve great results you can submit articles to different directories. Don’t forget to update your website with fresh content frequently. Search engines simply love fresh content especially if it is unique and relevant to your website.
3. Finding contact information – sometimes it is very hard to find the contact information of a certain webmaster. However, spending some extra time looking for that information often pays off. Some webmasters hide their e-mail addresses from spam bots. They usually use (at), {at} or others instead of @ and dot, (dot), [dot] instead of an actual dot. Using CTRL + F and looking for these things is usually helpful.
4. Guest blogging – the first thing you should keep in mind about guest blogging is that people are way more likely to click on the first link they see than on the links that are places at the end of an article.
